这个方面需要考生善于捕捉信息，作出正确判断，通过综合抓住讲话中的思想。
1.推测言外之意
在对话中说话人常常出于某种考虑不直接表示其含义而系用迂回的方式间接回答，如
You hear:
I hope these apples are as good as they look.
其言外之意：“恐怕这些苹果不如它们看上去那么好吧”。请见一个中级口译真题。

You hear:
The auditorium was packed with people standing in the aisles.
You read:
（A）There were no chairs in the auditorium.
（B）People were packing to leave.
（C）There were no seats available.
（D）Some people were shouting in the aisles
解为C。因为这里原文表示“拥挤pack”，并且人们都站着，说明已无空位了。因此解为C。这种主客观相对转换模式是口译证书中经常考的。希望考生引起注意。
2、归纳总结，抓住中心
在中译证书听力试题中有一段文章，其中有这么几句：
W: Did you want a day course or an evening course?
M: Well, it would have to be an evening course since I work during the day .
